Claudia Costa Pederson is the author of Mexican Media Art, Ecologies, the Posthuman, and Politics (Routledge, 2025), and Gaming Utopia, Ludic Worlds in Art, Design, and Media (Indiana University Press, 2021). Her writings appear in various journals including Leonardo, Arteologie, Media-N, Review: Literature and Arts of the Americas, and Afterimage, and in edited volumes on film and media, including The Ethics of Documentary Film (2025), Handbook of Documentary (2025), Paisajes virtuales, informales y edificados (2020), Latin American Modernisms and Technology (2018), The Philosophy of Documentary Film (2016), Cinema em Redes: Tecnologia, Estetica e Politica na Era Digital (2016), and Indie Reframed: Women Filmmakers and Contemporary American Independent Cinema (2016). She received a Ph. D. in Art History and Visual Studies from Cornell University in 2012, and the Andy Warhol Arts Writers Grant in 2022. Pederson is currently an Associate Professor of Art History in New Media and Technology at Wichita State University and the curator for the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival New Media Exhibition at Ithaca College, New York, since 2017.
