There is a lot to update since my last news posting, but for the moment I simply want to note that in 2022 I finished production on “TX-2: MOONSHADOW and the accompanying film, “Temporal Transfer Orbit (TTO)”. In the meantime, “TX-1” was selected for the 2023 Lumen Prize BCS Futures Award Longlist. I’ve had quite a lot of talks, exhibitions, and presentations over the past year, and at some point I should update the site with all of that information. I’ve also been developing my own modular synthesizer modules which will soon be available on modular.selestium.net, as well as doing a lot of research for future projects. More to come soon!

I wanted to share some information about a three-channel video piece that I completed last year entitled DEAR INTERLOCUTOR:TX-1, a piece the builds off of the TX-1 project to consider aspects of ruralness, alienness, querness, and sci-fi futurities. I also posted the script for the piece. If you’re interested in watching a screener please reach out to me.

I’ll be sharing some more information soon about two new projects that I’m developing!

I’m quite honored to have been asked to contribute to the “No Linear Fucking Time” issue of Prospections by BAK which is part of the exhibition and program of the same name. My contribution is about lichen, deeper times, and the epistolary. It’s entitled “Dearest Xen (Letters to Lichen)”, and is one of the more experimental things I’ve published. Be sure to check out the other contributions to this issue as well, it’s quite a distinguished group.

I’m pleased to present the premiere of a documentary about my Biofriction residency at the Kersnikova Institute/Kapelica Gallery last fall. Included in this documentary is a new work that I created during the residency, and am posting about for the first time, Xenological Entanglements. 001b: Saccular Fount. This piece is a photoperformance and speculative object about externalized production of hormones under microgravity conditions. It will be exhibited at Ectopia in Lisbon, Portugal that features the other Biofriction artists. Excited to be showing amongst this group!

I’ve decided to self-publish my text “Fragments of Xenology”, a series of short theoretical musings on this concept of “xenology”. While I began it in 2019 and finished it just before the start of the pandemic in 2020, and it has not been updated since then, I still feel like it retains a lot of relevance, especially for the work of the tranxxeno lab. But I hope that by publishing it here others might find concept-provoking thoughts in it as well. If you do have something you want to share after reading it, please feel free to reach out to me!

A short update to say that I am now living in Amsterdam! After an incredible fall at the Kersnikova Institute/Kapelica Gallery, and a lot of development on the Eromatase project, I have now settled in Amsterdam as a 3Package Deal artist who will be in residence at Waag. I will be working as part of an EC-funded project called Art4Med. Soon I will post more about my work from the fall and what I am planning on exploring while at Waag. Also: I am now registered in the Netherlands as a sole-proprietor business, KvK number 81623542.

I have just posted the first of an occasional series of Quaronatine Diaries, which will be short texts about our present moment from a tranxxeno perspective. Called “What We Do in the Shadows”, the text considers the heteronormative familial aspects of our present forced isolation and what this means for tranxxeno peoples.
